Frequently asked questions.

when will the lucky few mugs be back in stock?

I do my best to post the date and time of my next restock in the annoucement bar at the top of this page, and I always announce and promote the date and time on my instagram page. You can also join my email list to get the date and time announcement straight in your inbox. Please note the reason that the Lucky Few mugs seem to be sold out constantly is because they tend to sell within a few hours, I aim for at least four releases per year. Most releases contain a collection of the different Lucky Few designs.

do you make other dishes?

Right now I am putting most of my focus on my disability awareness pottery. In the Gallery page you can see a collection of work I’ve made in the past. A few times a year I set aside time to fulfill custom orders for bowls, plain mugs, salt caves, spoon rests, draining sponge holders and anything else in my portfolio of pottery products. If you are interested in learning more feel free to contact me!

When I have extra inventory of such items I may occasionally add them to my website for sale.

can I return my order?

Pottery- I do not accept returns. In the case of pottery arriving broken I may send a replacement. In order to receive a replacement you must contact me immediately upon receiving broken pottery. Any delay in contacting me will result in a forfeited replacement. Please reach out if you have any questions.

Stickers- I do not accept returns. If there is a flaw or error on your sticker a replacement will be sent. Please contact me if you have received a flawed sticker.

Apparel- I do not accept returns. In the event a flawed piece of apparel was sent please contact me and I will settle the issue.

I want to make sure you receive exactly what you are hoping for! If you are ever unhappy with your order please don’t hesitate to contact me!

is it dishwasher or microwave safe?

All of my dishes are dishwasher and microwave safe. However handmade dish-ware lasts longer when it is hand washed! If an item in my shop is not dishwasher or microwave safe it will be clearly stated in the description.

Stickers are water resistant but will last longer if they don’t go through the dishwasher, avoid submersing in water.

when will I receive my order?

All of the items in my shop are ready to ship unless otherwise noted! Please allow 3-5 business days for me to get your pottery packed and sent on its way. If you haven’t received an email with shipping information within 5 business days of your order please contact me!

The Pre-Ordered Custom Lucky Few Mugs are made-to-order and will not be shipped for 7-12 weeks after ordering, if you have questions about your order please contact me.

can you make custom work?

While I do love a challenge, at this time I cannot take on any custom work orders. The exception to that is adding someone’s name to a mug, the same design as my “Dad” and “mama” mugs. Please contact me for more information! If you are looking for custom logo mugs for your business please reach out, depending on my availability I may be able to take on more wholesale customers.

The only time custom Lucky Few Mugs are available is during specific shop restocks in which I specify the custom mugs will be available.

what’s your connection with Down syndrome?

My amazing son Miles was born with an extra chromosome! My husband and I found out at his birth that he has Down syndrome and have been his biggest fans and advocates ever since.

can I visit your studio?

My studio is in my home and at this time it’s not open to the public.

is The Potter’s Clay eco-friendly?

yes. Being as eco-friendly and sustainable as possible is a very high priority of mine both as a potter and as a human. Here are some (but not all) of the ways I take care of the earth:

  • minimal plastic packaging. When shipped, my pottery is wrapped in recycled paper bubble wrap, as well as recycled newsprint. Also included is a recycled paper envelope with a business card and a thank you note. I currently use standard plastic packing tape but am actively looking for a plastic-free substitution. I ship most orders in USPS boxes for the best shipping prices. If you ever receive a package from The Potter’s Clay that contains standard bubble wrap you can be sure that it was not purchased new for this use. When I come across clean, used, bubble wrap I save it and use it in shipping orders that need a little extra cushion.

Due to availability and cost some orders are sent in traditional plastic bubble wrap.

  • clay recycling! All scrapes of clay are saved and reused in future projects.

  • energy efficient lighting in the studio
